Spray Foaming a Pole Barn in Fort Atkinson

We were out in Fort Atkinson for this one.

Pole barn. Lots of open space. Lots of area to spray.

Pretty straightforward job for us.

The owner wanted the building insulated, so Koala Insulation of Madison came in to handle the spray foam.

If you’ve ever been inside an uninsulated pole barn when Wisconsin weather is doing its thing, you probably don’t need much of an explanation for why somebody would want to insulate one.

They’re big buildings.

And without insulation, that outside temperature doesn’t exactly stay outside.

Getting Everything Ready to Spray

There’s always some prep involved before we start spraying.

You don’t just pull up, grab the gun and start covering walls with foam.

We get our equipment where we need it, look over the building and make sure we’re ready to work our way through the space.

Then we spray.

And spray some more.

Pole barns have a funny way of looking manageable until you’re standing inside one staring at all the wall and roof area.

Then it looks a whole lot bigger.

This one was no different.

Spray Foam Works Well in These Buildings

One of the things we like about spray foam insulation in pole barns is that we can apply it directly where it’s needed and work around the framing.

Once you start getting foam up, the building changes pretty quickly.

Bare sections start disappearing.

You finish one area and move on to the next.

After you’ve been at it awhile, you turn around and realize just how much you’ve already covered.

That’s always a good part of the job.

There’s still work in front of you, but at least the part behind you looks pretty good.

Another Pole Barn Getting Ready for Wisconsin Weather

This wasn’t one of those jobs with some big problem we had to figure out.

No old insulation mess.

No homeowner wondering why one room of the house is twenty degrees hotter than another.

It’s a pole barn in Fort Atkinson that needed insulation.

So, we went out and sprayed it.

Sometimes that’s the whole story.

And really, getting insulation taken care of before you’re dealing with comfort problems later is the better way to do it anyway.

Once the foam is in, it’s in.

The owner can move on with whatever comes next for the building.
