My spouse and I got a quote from this company to bring our insulation up to code, as the insulation settled in the year after the home was built. We got the estimate and my husband put a 2k deposit with koala. The builder of our house decided to have the original contractor come back to do the work, since it was still covered. We requested our 2k back from koala, as we were not going to require the services. It took over a month and dozen phone calls to get the money back, and they kept 300 of it for no services rendered. Estimates with most companies are free or under 100 dollars. Do not use koala unless you plan on paying only when services are complete, as they WILL try or succeed in keeping your money. Ive read back through their reviews now and see this has happened multiple times with them.

At beginning of this year, They took my advance 50% payment at quote day. Then they scheduled twice. Every time they schedule, they forced me to clean the house snow stuck. But they did not appear. Then they promised to refund. Since almost end of the year, nothing refunded! I have receipt of advance payment.

The process from start to finish was smooth, informative, and painless. Sean and the team explained everything they were doing in understandable terms and answered all of our questions with patience. We noticed an immediate difference in how cool the home was after they installed the attic insulation. They accommodated our scheduling needs and left the home clean when they were done. Sean, Rob and the rest of the team were fantastic. They were courteous, worked cleanly and were very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them and would use them again. I had my detached garage insulated with close cell spray foam insulation on the ceiling and the walls. The ceiling included a pulldown ladder with an air seal cover and an additional hinged access panel. The walls had additional unfaced fiberglass batts to fill the cavities for wall paneling, makes it super quiet and I love it. I also had my roof insulation removed and redone with closed cell foam, this included my third story walk up attic which had about 10" of blown in cellulose insulation spread through the HVAC blower and ductwork and whatever remnants of insulation from the 1920's when it was built. The roof line extended down to the second floor and a converted closet with a kneewall with an access panel. This air sealed the area which would just pour cold air in the winter and into the bedroom. They did an excellent job preparing the job sites, taping up floors, outlets, doors, and windows. They had great recommendations on how to achieve my ultimate goals with my attic and garage, including things on ventilation, humidity control, and any issues to look out for.
