This was actually a repeat customer for us.
We originally insulated his attic a few years back, and apparently the experience stuck with him because he called us again recently to handle the crawlspace insulation using closed cell spray foam.
Honestly, those are usually the best calls to get.
He already knew what to expect
That changes things a little.
A lot of first-time insulation customers are understandably nervous about mess, cleanup, or how invasive the process is going to be. Especially with crawlspaces. People picture insulation debris everywhere and workers stomping through the house all day.
That’s usually one of the first concerns we hear.
This customer mentioned afterward that he expected a mess the first time we worked together, but said the house was actually left cleaner than he expected once everything was finished.
That part mattered.
Crawlspaces are never glamorous jobs
Especially around Chicago-West, Elmhurst, and the surrounding areas where crawlspaces can get tight fast.
This one was no different.
Low clearance in areas. Cooler damp air underneath the home. That earthy crawlspace smell that kind of sticks with you for a minute after climbing back out. Closed cell spray foam ended up being the right fit here because of how well it seals and insulates at the same time.
You could hear the spray foam rig humming outside pretty much the entire install.
Long day.
Closed cell spray foam changes the space completely
Once it’s installed correctly, the crawlspace starts feeling different almost immediately.
Not really in a dramatic TV-commercial kind of way either. Just quieter. More sealed off. Less outside air moving through the space. Kind of like shutting a window you did not realize was cracked open all winter.
We see this a lot after crawlspace projects.
And honestly, repeat customers usually already understand the value of fixing these areas correctly the first time instead of piecing things together over several smaller jobs.
One thing he mentioned again afterward
The cleanup.
That came up both times we worked together.
His updated review afterward said pretty much the same thing as the first experience — quick, clean, and friendly. Those are honestly some of the better compliments to get on insulation jobs because people remember how contractors leave their home long after the actual install is finished.
Not great when crews leave behind a disaster.
Tax credits came up during the project too
We talked through insulation tax credits and ways to help reduce overall project costs where possible.
Sometimes homeowners are surprised certain insulation upgrades may qualify depending on the product and installation type. Every project is different obviously but helping customers understand those options upfront usually makes the process a lot easier.
That was it.
Simple conversation, but helpful.
Kind of one of those full-circle projects
The interesting part about this one honestly was that it started years ago with attic insulation.
Now we’re back insulating the crawlspace because the customer trusted the process enough to call the same team again. That does not happen by accident in this industry. We appreciate that trust every single time somebody calls us back for another project.
