I chose Koala Insulation of Birmingham to add insulation to my attic space, and to install a zippered insulated attic stair cover to prevent drafting into my living space. This company responded promptly to my request for a quote, completed the job in a professional manner, and their technicians cleaned up immaculately. This is NOT easy work, especially in the summer in Alabama. Neal did the quote and provided me with several options to consider to help lower my utility costs. Their receptionist Bethany, was absolutely a pleasure to work with and kept me informed every step of the way. Their technicians came on time, relentlessly did their job in sweltering heat, and were respectful of the property in every way. I am glad I chose this company - - - their employees autograph their work with quality.

Koala Insulation did a great job on insulating my attic up to the current code. All of their employees were extremely nice and helpful. They arrived on time as scheduled. Very reasonable price.

The reason Koala has only 5 star reviews is because they deserve only 5 star reviews. Neal came out and checked out my attic insulation, had a quote sent to me, they worked with me on the quote, and came out for the installation.
The installation was very fast - showed up at 7:30 and done by 10:30. Everything was very clean too.
Then, when I had concerns about the newly installed attic insulation, John and his crew came out, inspected the job, and addressed all of my concerns.

Koala has been amazing to work with! We recently purchased a 20-year-old home and I desperately needed insulation added to my attic as it was patchy or just missing in whole sections. Our AC was working too hard when it was just 82 out and couldn't keep up.
Kim in the office has been so patient and helpful. I really appreciate her kindness handling our set up!
Patrick and Martin were wonderful to work with. They were very patient, went above and beyond, and reviewed the work with me to make sure I was happy before they left. They were so quick too! They also made sure to clean up before they left.
The results are worth it! They left around 9 or 10 this morning and I can already tell a huge difference. A room that would get to be about 80 with our AC running and curtains closed got down to 73 today with the AC set to 73. It's such a relief. I'm thrilled to finally enjoy all of my new-to-me house.

First of all Koala is a small business, family owned which earns points with me. I was on the search for a company that didn’t have all these negative remarks online. When I retired I moved back into the family home. I found myself blowing my nose at least 20 to 25 times a day, this had never happened. I asked my Mom about the attic insulation. She replied “oh yes, I had that done 10 years ago”. Ok, so I’d scratch that off the list. Another year goes by, still the same persistent nose blowing. I told myself this can’t be right. When I got up in the attic, I was horrified. The workers took advantage of my elderly mother. They just started tossing pink bats on top of insulation that had been up there from the 1940s! The good news was my mother said her father installed Cellulose insulation and the old was not asbestos. The workers 10 years ago only covered ¼ of the attic space. Not only did charge my mom for the entire area, they left all the old insulation from the 1940s up there! In all my research, Koala stood out. From online positive reviews to the process of the work they performed. But here is where Koala went the extra step; they would completely vacuum the entire attic space before putting down the new insulation. The guys that work for this company take a lot of pride in being meticulous, which I greatly appreciated. Both of the attic fans which I was unaware of did not work and I asked about a replacement. They carry solar fans that have a solid life span and are tax deductable; I believe it was 30%. I had them install a cover sealer that incased the top of the stairs (we have the pull down type) so AC and heat wouldn’t escape into the attic saving us money in the long run. Now down to the insulation. You can use the pink kind, that is fine and it’s cheaper but I went with the blown Rockwell insulation. Water cannot soak it and it can’t burn. I asked Koala for a price comparison between the pink and Rockwell which they were glad to do. I was pleasantly surprised it was only about 2k more. Now here this, I am a fan of Rockwell from all my research. It’s more efficient, repels water, won’t burn and it’s last LONGER than the pink. So, in the long run it does come out cheaper. Now let’s talk about the workers at Koala. The workers at Koala take such pride in their work, cleaning up as they go along and not leaving a mess was impressive. They were kind, respectful to me and to the property. I would tell everyone you don’t need to look any further and you can depend on Koala. They even installed these rulers throughout the attic so you could see the exact depth that was blown in. I can’t speak enough on how wonderful the experience was. I’m very pleased with work performed by Kola. The team worked very efficiently and it took less than half a day. They had to remove some old insulation on the walls that had become delaminated. I recommend them highly.

The crew arrived at the appointed time. All of them were courteous and explained what they planned to do. The work was completed in the estimated time. They cleaned up all areas after the job was completed. Finally, before they left, we were asked to inspect the work that it was done to our satisfaction. The pricing was reasonable and the service was a good value for the price. Recommended!

Great experience from beginning to end. The company is very professional and communication is good. You get text updates throughout the process, when they schedule the appointments and when they are on their way. The work was great and they took lots of pictures to verify everything. Justin, Luis, and Francisco were here earlier than expected, worked quickly, and did a great job cleaning up behind themselves.

We have had a wonderful experience with this company from start to finish. The quote for increasing our attic insulation to R-38 was very competitive and included a solar-powered vent. They were able to begin the job within a week. All of the employees were very professional and polite, and explained what they were doing. After finishing they ensured their work area was cleaned up completely. The completed job looks amazing and our upstairs A/C unit is no longer straining and running all day trying to cool the upstairs portion of our home. Thank you Koala for doing such a great job. I highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

My experience with Koala Insulation was stellar! From estimate to installation. I also got much more for my money in comparison with another well known company!
Communication was super quick and less than 48 hrs after my initial online inquiry Neal was at my house giving a free estimate. He was SUPER thorough. He spent over an hour at my house. First waking the entirety of my attic in the blazing summer heat, taking pictures of everything, and then talking through all his recommendations for my particular setup and different options he could quote. Very friendly and helpful and made me want to use them even before seeing the actual price. Which again, ended up cheaper than others I asked!
Jonathan, Cole, and Ryan continued the positive experience with their on time and quick installation. Communication with Jon and Bethany regarding when they would arrive was quick, clear, and accurate. The install crew was also very friendly, professional, and kept me well informed about what all was going on which I always appreciate. They were in and out quickly and cleaned up after themselves.

The crew at Koala insulation did a great job. The first good impression was, they worked well my schedule. The salesman was able to meet with me at 5 o'clock on a Monday and the installation team came on a Friday morning. The installation team was very respectful of my property. They took the time to insure that nothing was damaged or left in a mess. The owner was polite and quickly responded when I had questions via email or phone call. I would definitely recommend Koala insulation to anyone in need of their service.
