Professional Solar Attic Fan Installation in West Houston
Solar attic fans are a powerful way to improve your home’s ventilation while reducing energy costs. By harnessing the power of the sun, these fans help regulate attic temperatures by expelling hot air, reducing the workload on your HVAC system. Proper attic ventilation can significantly lower indoor temperatures during the summer, preventing heat from building up in your attic and radiating down into your living spaces.
At Koala Insulation, our solar attic fans are designed to optimize airflow, providing a cost-effective, eco-friendly solution to home ventilation. With no operating costs, solar attic fans are a smart investment that pays for itself over time.
Benefits of Solar Attic Fans
- Energy Efficiency: By reducing attic temperatures, solar attic fans decrease the strain on your air conditioning system, leading to lower energy consumption and utility bills.
- Extended Roof Life: Proper ventilation helps prevent moisture buildup in the attic, which can lead to mold growth and roof damage. Solar attic fans help maintain a balanced attic environment, extending the life of your roof.
- Eco-Friendly: Solar attic fans run on solar power, meaning they require no electricity to operate. This makes them an environmentally friendly solution for home ventilation.
- Temperature Control: Solar attic fans help regulate indoor temperatures, keeping your home cooler in the summer. This makes your living spaces more comfortable while reducing the need for air conditioning.
- No Operating Costs: Because solar attic fans are powered by the sun, they come with no ongoing operating costs, making them a long-term investment in energy savings.

I went through Lowe’s home services to set up an appointment with Koala Insulation installation. They contacted me the very next day and set up an appointment to visit the job site and to provide an estimate. The representative showed up for the appointment on time, and efficiently measured the area to be insulated and provided a written estimate right away. They set up an installation appointment that worked with my schedule. The crew did an excellent job blowing in the R-38 insulation and the end result was beyond my expectations (see photos). I highly recommend Koala Insulation.

I should’ve gone with the other insulation company. I fell for the extra insulation and longer warranty at a slightly higher price. Now that everything works like it did before they came to my house I will never call for warranty work because I never want to have to deal with them again.
I even had a simple ask to stop asking me to give a review but after several request I decided I would share how I feel about the service I received.
The photo attached is my AC unit for my master bedroom after the first day. They didn’t tell me this happened so I found it at 11PM when I went to go to bed. Actually after midnight after I spent time troubleshooting my AC unit it.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Koala Insulation. They were on site at a property I manage for several hours, yet the job was left unfinished. Spray foam insulation was paid for, but none was installed, and I was not informed that the work had not been completed.
I only discovered this after I got off work, by which time their office was already closed. Since they are also closed on weekends, I was left without any explanation until Monday.
When I did finally reach them, multiple reasons were given as to why the work could not be completed, including weather-related issues which were not brought up when they arrived at the property.
Regardless of the reasons, the failure to communicate during or immediately after the visit is unacceptable. Their office was open for over an hour before I had to initiate contact myself on Monday morning.
A neighbor even met them at their arrival and let them know someone is still home next door if they had any issues to go and speak with him which they never did.
During the in-person inspection, I was clearly told the area underneath the house would be cleaned out as part of the scope of work. However, the photos show the crawl space was not cleaned as represented, despite being charged $500 for that service.
After raising this issue, I was then informed they would only remove insulation and not the wood debris from the subfloor removal, despite that debris being specifically discussed as part of the clean-out during their on-site walkthrough.
While the property was not left in worse condition than before, the work performed does not align with what was discussed, quoted, or paid for. The most concerning issue is the complete lack of proactive communication and follow-through.
Based on how this job was handled, I would never recommend this company.

Robert and Victor came out and did an amazing job incredibly fast, I can already feel the difference. They arrived right on time, used a nice smelling insect and rodent repellent before starting. In 2 hours they finished insulating our attic and cleaning up.
Previous homeowners only had 4inches of various insulation types throughout the attic, in some spots zero coverage. They added enough to get us 17" for a good price. Comparing estimates and DIY, Koala is worth it.
I would highly recommend. I'm also able to use their service as an energy efficiency tax credit. If I ever need insulation again, I'm going with them.
