Spray Foam Insulation for a New A-Frame in Walling, TN

We got called out to Walling, TN for a new A-frame build.

Pretty cool little place.

The plan is for it to eventually be an Airbnb.

Right now, though, it’s still very much a construction site.

Bare framing. Tools everywhere. Guys working around each other.

And a whole lot of angles.

A-frames will give you that.

Our part of the build was the spray foam insulation in this Walling, TN A-frame.

We ended up using both closed cell and open cell spray foam.

There are a lot of angles in an A-frame

You don’t really think about it until you’re standing inside one.

Nothing feels like a normal wall.

The roof comes way down. You’ve got framing going different directions. Little sections here and there.

One of the guys looked around before we started and said, “We’re gonna be looking up all day.”

He wasn’t wrong.

We got everything set up and started working our way through it.

Some areas got closed cell spray foam.

Other areas got open cell spray foam.

Just kept moving.

Section by section.

This one is going to be a pretty cool Airbnb

I kept thinking that while we were there.

It’s hard to picture the finished place when you’re looking at exposed framing, but you can tell where it’s going.

Especially with an A-frame.

There’s just something about them.

I think people are going to like staying here when it’s finished.

At one point I stopped and looked out through the framing for a minute.

Walling is a pretty area anyway.

Once this place is finished up and furnished, it’ll be completely different from what we’re looking at right now.

We had to go back and hit one spot

Toward the end, one of the guys noticed a small section around the framing that needed another pass.

Easy spot to walk right by.

We almost did.

So, we pulled everything back over and took care of it.

That’s why we look everything over before packing up.

Especially on a build with this many angles.

You think you’re done.

Then somebody points up.

“Got one.”

Alright.

Back at it.

Another new build moving along in Walling

By the time we were wrapping up, the spray foam insulation was in and this A-frame was one step closer to looking like an actual Airbnb instead of a construction project.

Still, plenty of work left for the other trades.

But our part was done.

We packed everything up and let the next crew have it.

It’ll be fun to see this one again once it’s completely finished.
