The decking in my bedroom hip cathedral ceiling was rotting due to lack of proper ventilation. The three skylights complicated the issue. The only sure solution was to remove the 30 year old batt insulation and install close cell foam.
James came out and gave me an detailed written estimate promptly. I requested estimates from two other contractors that took forever and were about the same cost with a vague estimate.
Chris & Red arrived on the scheduled date. That did a excellent job of removing the old insulation and polyvents. They finished the masking that I had started. The only problem I had was that they did not have a fan to depressurize the room so we used my box fan.
Chris did a excellent jot of spraying even in the difficult areas around the skylights.
They did not finish removing excess foam and filling remaining voids so Chris came back the next morning to complete.
I was very happy with the job and would recommend Koala.

Koala did our attic insulation last year. From the first point of contact to cleaning up after job was done, it was a 5-star experience! From 3 quotes that we received, Koala was also the most reasonable with thorough explanation with the scope of work. Their staff was very professional and courteous. During installation, they made sure to minimize the mess as much as possible. Highly recommend this company!

Koala of Richmond encapsulated our crawlspace and did a great job. The price was reasonable and work done as quoted. My son and I are happy with the work. James was great with communications and called me back each time i had any questions regarding the quote. Would call on them again if i needed more work.

Very professional with the scheduling of the estimate and discussing my project. I was told I would be provided a written cost estimate in a few days. I called the Prod Mgr and explained I wanted to move forward once I received the estimate and was told no problem. I have not heard from Koala since. Went with another company that had an itemized quote in 15min and an appoint for the work in one day. Im paying 50% more than the verbal estimate on price given by Koala but my goal as explained to Koala was to get it done not haggle over price. Not hearing anything back from Koala was surprising and disappointing.

UPDATED: Jeff personally contacted my husband and me, and is making it right! Very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Koala to others.

Be prepared to spend $ & time for repairs after the crew is gone. The crew did a thorough job of removing the old insulation but left a ton of insulation, metal & plastic pieces, pliers, metal washers etc. in the front yard that took me a while to get out of the grass. Then during the blow-in they stepped on 2 HVAC vents, popping them both thru the ceiling below, one causing damage that still needs to be patched/sanded/ painted. But the costly mistake was the hall light that didn't work after they left. My husband tried to fix but we ended up having to call an electrician to come out to repair the wire. We understand accidents happen but when I notified Koala, they didn't offer to deduct the cost of the electrician from our final bill, or deduct anything for the repairs we'll have to do to our ceiling, or for me having to clean up the front yard.
