These capabilities define the insulation type:

  • Prevents Conduction: Spray foam reduces thermal transfer from materials in contact with the insulation itself, such as wood or drywall.

  • Blocks Air Infiltration: The insulation system prevents treated air from transferring through gaps, holes, or damage in exterior walls and roofs.

  • Stops Moisture: Spray foam blocks moisture from entering the treated space and contributing to heat loss or gain.

Advantages Of
Spray Foam Insulation in Omaha

Spray foam insulation outperforms all other types of insulation by large margins because its long-term benefits outweigh its initial installation costs. Spray foam also offers superior sealing properties and is environmentally friendly.

Spray foam insulation is an ideal solution for Omaha homes, providing a robust barrier against moisture and enhancing fire safety. Its tight sealing and mildew-resistant properties offer essential protection against water damage and mold, ensuring a healthier, more comfortable living environment that withstands the local climate’s demands.

Spray foam insulation provides an effective barrier against pests such as insects and rodents in Omaha. Its seamless application creates an airtight seal that significantly reduces the chances of these unwanted visitors entering your home. This robust insulation not only enhances your living space’s comfort but also offers enduring protection and peace of mind for years to come.

Strengthens Buildings

Spray foam insulation is essential for achieving an energy-efficient residence in Omaha. When correctly installed, it forms a robust bond with framing, sheathing, and interior surfaces, improving the structural stability of the building and adapting to natural movements over time. This added rigidity helps your home withstand the local climate’s demands, reduces wall vibrations, and enhances soundproofing for a quieter living environment. These benefits are vital for ensuring the longevity and year-round comfort of your Omaha home.

Soundproofing Icon
Soundproofing

By sealing gaps and cracks, spray foam creates a continuous barrier within Omaha walls, floors, and ceilings to significantly reduce unwanted noise throughout your home. Its dense structure absorbs and dampens sound waves, effectively muting both outdoor traffic and indoor disruptions from HVAC systems and plumbing lines for a more peaceful living environment.

Environmentally Friendly Icon

Choosing spray foam insulation is a sustainable choice for Omaha homeowners seeking a more energy-efficient and resilient residence. Unlike traditional materials that may shed fibers, cured spray foam is chemically inert, meaning it doesn’t release harmful particles into your living space. During our professional installation process, specialized equipment ensures a precise application tailored to the local climate. While a brief off-gassing period is standard, once cured, the foam provides a permanent, seamless air seal. Because spray foam—specifically closed-cell varieties—does not retain moisture or support mold growth, it acts as a robust secondary barrier against water damage, preserving your home’s structural integrity for decades in Nebraska’s varying weather conditions.

First, I’ll start off saying I was looking at reviews koala came up very well. So when I call them young man named Kayden came out and did a very good inspection he came back with his results. The results were a little worse than I was hoped for mainly because there were signs of potential mold starting up there, but he said everything could be handled. give me a detailed list itemized everything out. It’s a pretty good price, but it was a lot of work. I tried to get some other companies to give me an estimate off off of his inspection, but none of them would take that up. So we simply scheduled to work and a gentleman named Ryan and another coworker who I am sorry to say I don’t have his name came out. They were at the house pretty much at the time described little after seven got right to work and absolutely it was an all day job for sure they had to remove every bit of old insulation a sprayed all the wood that was looking black from potential mold. they had to put baffles in everywhere cause there were none and they had to go around and check every eve vent, and every one of them had to be enlarged. Some of that was due to the construction type of the house. I couldn’t be more satisfied with the workmanship with the two men who worked all day, a gentleman by the name of Matt 1 of five with the company I believe also came out. We discussed adding a ceiling exhaust fan in the bathroom which we had never had. We upgraded to a different one which was fine very nice man and Ryan suggested maybe we should call a roofer out. He had a friend that was in the business so we did that and that gentleman showed up another very nice young man with Shamrock roofing the roof is basically OK from the outside of the plywood was getting soft so next roof will have that fixed but overall I think the guys did a top notch job on a job that was probably not the easiest one they come across and I’m very very satisfied with what they did

Seemed very professional during estimate for insulation and drywall, specifically said how detail oriented their boss was to make sure everything is perfect.

However on day of install, the team asked if I could describe what I understood they were suppose to do since they couldn’t get ahold of the person who did the estimate. There then were two significant changes to the plan since my house type didn’t allow for the ventilation originally planned. I am yet to find out on the quality of product, hopefully worth everything above.

Overall, be wary of the estimate. Ending up getting something different day of, certainly not “detail orientated.” Also would recommend getting professional to dry wall, will end of being redone due to poor quality.

Koala was a great experience from start to finish. The quote came with a thorough explanation of what we needed and also didn't need, in case another company tried to upsell us. They came the next week for installation and were very professional. They were done in 2 hours and took before and after pictures for us. I'd definitely recommend them.

We are very happy with the work the Koala team did for us. From start to finish we knew exactly what was being done and when. Communication was great. They provided very detailed before and after pics of all the work that was done. David, Matt & Ryan were great to work with. We are looking forward to a cooler & warmer house now that we have all new insulation and venting for the attic. Thanks again guys!

Is spray foam right for my attic in Omaha?

Spray foam insulation can be an excellent choice for attics, but there are a few key factors to consider:

Moisture and Preparation: Any existing dampness or water intrusion should be resolved before installation to ensure strong adhesion and long-term performance.
Surface Readiness: Concrete or masonry walls may need light cleaning or preparation so the foam bonds evenly and seals effectively.

By addressing these factors, spray foam creates a dry, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment that helps protect your home from the ground up. When applied by certified Koala Insulation professionals, spray foam provides lasting comfort, reduced energy costs, and year-round peace of mind. Learn More

How much does basement spray foam installation cost in Omaha?

Should I insulate my basement ceiling with spray foam?

Closed-cell spray foam works best for basement ceilings because it provides a high R-value and acts as a moisture barrier. It can also help block sound between floors. For the best results, it’s important to assess your home’s layout, HVAC design, and moisture conditions before choosing where to apply spray foam.

Koala Insulation technicians can evaluate your space and recommend whether ceiling, wall, or rim-joist insulation will deliver the greatest comfort and energy savings for your home.

Is spray foam insulation safe?

Spray foam insulation is safe when handled and installed by a trained professional. Spray foam poses no health risk once it is cured, but it can be hazardous during installation due to its chemical composition. We follow all industry safety standards, ensure proper ventilation, and complete curing before occupants return to the space, usually 24-48 hours after project completion.

Can you insulate the concrete block walls in my basement?

Concrete block basement walls can be insulated with spray foam, provided the surface is clean, dry, and free of moisture issues. Closed-cell spray foam is typically best, as it both insulates and creates a moisture-resistant air seal that helps prevent mold and drafts. Before application, any existing leaks or dampness should be addressed to ensure long-term performance and adhesion.

At Koala Insulation, we’ll determine whether spray foam, rigid foam board, or a hybrid system is the best fit for your block-wall basement so you get a solution built for long-term performance.

Do My Rim Joists Need An Airtight Seal?

Rim joists absolutely benefit from an airtight seal. Sealing this area with spray foam insulation prevents drafts, moisture intrusion, and heat loss where the foundation meets the framing, one of the most common sources of energy waste in a home. By creating a continuous air barrier, you’ll enjoy warmer floors, lower utility bills, and better indoor air quality year-round.

Is spray foam insulation flammable?

Spray foam insulation itself is not flammable once fully cured, but like most building materials, it can burn when exposed to direct flame. Koala Insulation uses fire-rated, code-compliant products. When installed correctly by our certified technicians, spray foam insulation provides a safe, durable, and energy-efficient layer that meets modern fire safety standards.

How long does spray foam insulation last?

Spray foam insulation typically lasts 80 to 100 years when professionally installed and properly maintained. Spray foam adheres directly to the building structure and won’t sag or settle, which means it offers the same performance decade after decade.

What are the best applications for spray foam insulation?

Spray foam insulation is a premium, versatile option for a few specific applications. After your initial assessment, we may recommend spray foam for:

Attics: Open-cell spray foam on attic floors seals air leaks and prevents treated air in the living space from escaping into the attic.
Basements: Closed-cell spray foam acts as a vapor barrier in moisture-prone basements, crawl spaces, and cellars.
Exterior Walls: While not always necessarily the most cost-effective option, spray foam fills irregular gaps in wall cavities while providing an effective moisture barrier.
Floors: Spray foam is sometimes sprayed between floor joists in suspended timber floors (non-slab).
Roofs: Closed-cell spray foam installed under the roof deck prevents air leaks and protects against moisture issues.

Can I spray foam insulation myself?

While DIY kits exist, spray foam insulation is not a good do-it-yourself project. Professional installers have the training, equipment, and ventilation controls needed to ensure safety, proper curing, and compliance with building codes. Poor installation from DIY attempts can lead to moisture problems, off-ratio foam, or even voided home insurance coverage, making professional service from Koala Insulation technicians the smarter, safer choice.
