What Insulation Type is Best For You?

There are a lot of different insulation types, and each holds different benefits for your home.

Let’s dive into a little more about each type!

BATT Insulation

Batt insulation (also known as blanket insulation) comes in flat pieces. It is made of fiberglass or mineral wool which is pre-cut into flat pieces. Batt insulation is typically installed between the studs, rafters and joists of your home and can be used to insulate walls, floors, attics and ceilings.

Blown-In Insulation

Blown-in insulation is a material made of fiberglass or cellulose that's blown into cavities in walls to fill in gaps in insulation. This insulation is ideal for attic spaces with nooks and crannies that are difficult to insulate with fiberglass batting due to their size and shape.

Closed Cell Spray Foam

Closed cell foam is made up of cells that are, as the name suggests, completely closed. The cells are pressed together, so air and moisture are unable to get inside the foam. Because of this, closed cell foam is much more rigid and stable than open cell foam.

Open Cell Spray Foam

Open cell foam is full of cells that aren't completely encapsulated. In other words, the cells are deliberately left open. This makes the foam a softer, more flexible material.
