This Hebron Pole Barn Took a Few Months to Get Started

We had been talking with this customer in Hebron for months before we ever sprayed an inch of foam.
Not because anything was wrong. It was just a newer pole barn and there were other contractors who needed to get their work done before we could get in there. That’s construction.

Everybody has their part and sometimes you’re waiting on somebody else before you can do yours. We stayed in touch with the customer, worked around the schedule and eventually got the call that they were ready for us. Then it was our turn.

Finally, time to start spraying. The plan was closed cell spray foam on all the walls and the ceiling.

Pole barns are one of those projects where spray foam just makes sense. There are a lot of big open areas to cover and you want to get everything sealed up while you’ve got access to it. Especially with a newer building.

It’s a lot nicer getting in there before everything is finished than trying to work around stuff later. We brought the equipment in, got everything prepped and started working our way through it.
Walls first.
Then more walls.
There’s a lot of wall in a pole barn.

You don’t really think about that until you’re the one spraying it. This wasn’t a one-day job We were there for about a week.
When you’ve got the walls and ceiling of an entire pole barn to spray, you aren’t knocking it out in an afternoon. And you don’t want to.

We’d rather take the time and get the foam where it needs to be than rush through something just because there’s a lot of square footage staring back at us. A few days into the project you could really see the building changing.

Bare walls on one side.
Foam on the other.
Keep moving.
The ceiling is always interesting
Walls are one thing.
Then you start looking up.
That’s when you remember how big these buildings actually are.

We worked our way across the ceiling with the closed cell foam and kept going. Not much of a story to tell there, really.
It’s spraying foam. You get into a rhythm after a while. Spray. Check it. Move. Do it again. And try not to spend the whole day looking straight up.

Months of planning, one week of spraying That’s probably what I’ll remember about this one. We spent months working with the customer and coordinating when we’d finally be able to get into the building.

Then once everything was ready, we were done in about a week. Funny how that works. Now the Hebron pole barn has closed cell spray foam across the walls and ceiling and our part of the project is finished.
