Gary Smeltzer and Pam Simpson started Koala Insulation because they saw a need for responsive building trade services in their hometown of New Bern, North Carolina. They came to Eastern Carolina for the proximity to the coast with the drive to build a company that could serve the area in the best way possible. With homes feeling hotter in summer and colder in winter, with residents continuously running their HVAC systems, and with an industry short on responsive services, Eastern North Carolina residents need reliable energy efficient options. Gary and Pam found that providing quality insulation education and solutions to the community to be a much-needed service and something they could provide.
Gary’s background in transportation and supply chain logistics gives him the experience to lead efficient teams and deliver quality results. Pam’s business background and her extensive work in the hospitality industry gives her the ability to create excellent customer experiences.
Gary and Pam live in New Bern close to two of their four children.

Hank Gerrian
Hank is originally from Indiana where he started his career in manufacturing factories where he worked on machine maintenance. Throughout his 20 year career, Hank has worked in construction, insulation, roofing, general machine and pool maintenance. A jack-of-all-trades, Hank can fix almost anything!
Hank and his wife Aleshia have eight children.
